• Festival of Braidwood - 2011 DTBA - annual event to celebrate the history of this Heritage Listed town. Market stalls from yesteryear, showcasing arts and crafts and kids games from a bygone era, start the day off in Ryrie Park. The traditional Heritage Day parade up Wallace St usually kicks off around lunchtime, with local floats, vintage cars, penny farthings, horse drawn vehicles and lots more.
As part of the festival 2010 saw the inaugural ‘Billy Cart Derby’ go off like a cracker. To all you billy cart enthusiasts, get ready the next one will be enormous. Watch this space for more details or go to...

• Galifrey (Alpaca) Farm Open Days - Sat / Sun 7th & 8th May
Once again, to celebrate National Alpaca Month, we are having our annual Open Days on Saturday & Sunday 7 – 8 May 2011 from 10am to 4pm. Not only will you be able to see alpacas & their crias (baby alpacas) up close, but we will have our farm tours (via chickens, geese, cattle etc & alpacas, tree lucerne & vege garden & fruit orchards and the newly planted food forest) at 11am and 2pm, and displays by Suzanne Bellamy, Farringdon Rural Fire Service & Firewise, Landmark, the Braidwood 4WD guy, My Indulgence Time, Foofaraw Shawlstix, The Old Cheese Factory & more! The Galifrey Alpaca Textiles Farm Shop will be open each day, and free morning & afternoon teas will be provided, so there should be plenty to see & do for everyone!
